My plan and my trainers!

After reading lots of different training plans I have settled on this one :

- only doing each week twice. It seemed the easiest I could find to follow and stick to.

The trainers I was originally running in were not cushioned/supportive enough when I started gong slightly longer distances so now I have these beauties -

It's been a while .....

But luckily I haven't been as slack with my training as I have with updating my blog! (not sure why I thought I'd have time to do this really ...)

Anyway - what a difference 5 weeks makes.

Last time I blogged I was worried about if I could do the 3/4/5 minute runs .. this last week I have done 3 x 30 minute runs and 1x 35 - my furthest being yesterday's 3.37 miles.

I am absolutely amazed and so proud of myself. To think that only a couple of months ago I could barely run for 90 seconds and now I can go over half an hour is pretty unbelievable.

I am aching today as I have been out Sunday, yesterday and am supposed to go tonight but I am amazed my feet are holding up so well (I have osteoarthritis in my big toe joints which has lead to bunion type weirdness - nice!). I'm less impressed I've put on weight this week but I think I may have to concentrate on one thing at a time, maybe.

A long way to go and I'm still not convinced I will make it but I've got further than I thought possible and I'm having (mostly!) lots of fun.
