Janathon - day 5

It got to about 4pm and all I had  done was baking, watching football and lots of napping before I realised I had forgotten Janathon! Did consider just logging "making sausage rolls" but I need the exercise as I want to get thin again so realised I had better go out before the chaos of night before back-to-school started and I totally ran out of time.

Managed to persuade Matthew out for a little bit but he wasn't enjoying it.  He struggled round 0.6 miles as was coughing quite a bit and hasn't really done anything in ages but he was really disappointed as he was doing a mile and a half with me easily at the start of last year.  I think he wants to try and get into it again so it will be nice to have him come out more if he does.

I dropped Matthew back home and then just did my small mile ish circuit - saving my energy for Tuesday's long run!

0.6 with Matthew then
1.15 on my own :-)

Day 17 - With Olivia!

Another one that I wasn't really looking forward to.  Was excited about running outside after the last 2 dreadmill days but was uncertain how I would manage it as too much traffic meant I needed to take Olivia with me. Matthew was at a friend's just over a mile away so with a little bribery (stopping at the shop to buy chocolate for her on the way home) Olivia joined me on her balance bike to go and meet him.

I did a few 1 mile runs like this in Janathon but it felt like a bit of a cop out this time.  Trying not to feel too disappointed, I ran, I'm blogging so still taking part, just a little slower than I hoped.  Having said that, I'm actually pretty impressed with a 11.13 min pace from a small, tired 3 year old!

Today - 2.26
Total so far - 61.4

Janathon - Day 27

Today, I wanted to go out but unusually didn't fancy going on my own. Usually I prefer it so I don't know why today was different! I've got a few friends down the road who recently started running but couldn't get hold of them so was thinking I'd have to go alone but then my boys came back and both wanted to run.

1 mile with Ben, swapped at home and picked up Matthew who then did a mile and a half with me :-). Love having the to time to just have a little chat with each of them.

Janathon - Day 14

I *really* didn't fancy this today! Aching a bit and had a very busy day.

Got back from Mum and Dad's after celebrating Dad's birthday with a little party tea. Tried to not eat too much but don't think I will weigh myself until Wednesday!

Took Matthew out with me for a very little, slow run;

Janathon - Day 12

Matthew's first parkrun :-)

Couldn't have picked a worse day for it, I've never run there when it's been so windy, he was nearly knocked off his feet at a couple of corners! We had moments where he thought he couldn't do it but I knew he could so I am so pleased for him that he made it to the end. His official time was 44:08 :-). I also think we should get extra points for having to walk a mile and a half to even get to the start!

3.53 miles

Total - 26.6 miles this January :-)

Janathon - Day 7

Another run with Matthew, I love how enthusiastic he has suddenly become, my only problem now is stopping him coming out tomorrow!

I'm really looking forward to the morning - will be dropping the youngest 2 at school then trying a slightly longer run than I have for a while, see how the foot holds up to that.

Janathon - Day 6

My favourite day so far, I think.

Both boys are entered into a 1 mile children's run while I'm doing Brighton half. and while neither have been very sporty until recently, Ben (13) has run a bit, done a few parkruns and been out with me a couple of times.

Matthew (10) had his first try at running with me this evening, we just did laps around a block in the middle of our road, which is quite conveniently 0.25 miles.

Olivia joined us for 0.8 miles on her balance bike but Matthew and me did :

1.21 miles
14 minutes 1 second

An amazing first attempt, he even managed a sprint finish, am very proud!
